Art that tells stories of hope

Formed from fragments

Gathered around the shelter

Handmade Paper & Mixed Media

12” x 12” x 12”

This sculpture explores the cyclical nature of life through both the subject and the materials used. I created the tree sculpture from recycled paper: scraps that once served other purposes are now transformed into something whole. Over 5,000 individual leaves were shaped, cut, and glued by hand.

I made the sculpture to represent a place of peace where living things gather, coexist, and find shelter. Each bird depicted is native to Pennsylvania, symbolizing the diversity. The tree stands as a quiet sanctuary, offering protection to animals, a place that connects life around it.

By using discarded materials to create something beautiful, I aim to highlight the possibilities of renewal and the value of what surrounds us.
