Art that tells stories of hope

Formed from fragments

Transfigured

Handmade Paper & Mixed Media

18” x 27” x 18”

This piece is inspired by Jesus’ Transfiguration, when His face shone like the sun and His garments became radiant white, revealing His divine glory and foreshadowing the transformation promised to us. I mirrored this moment through a tree whose leaves shift from sparse brown at the base to bright white touched with gold above. Made from recycled paper pulped, shaped, and formed into handmade sheets, the sculpture includes about 7,000 individually cut leaves attached individually by hand onto the branches.

Both the imagery and the process echo the hope of renewal. What was once discarded is remade into something new, just as we, too, can be transformed. My desire is that people see not only a reflection of Jesus’ glory, but also an invitation to their own restoration. A reminder that what is broken can become something greater than imagined.
